# Keyboard Shortcuts

MetaDock is designed to be keyboard-first. Learn these shortcuts and you'll rarely need the mouse.

Note

Every shortcut listed here is customizable. Go to **Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts** to rebind anything.

## Layout & Workspace

These control your workspace, layouts, and the overall MetaDock interface. The most important ones to learn first are **Ctrl+K** (search), **Ctrl+S** (save), and **Ctrl+Shift+W** (switch workspace).

## Docked Apps

These apply when a docked native app (App Support) panel is focused:

Shortcuts are dispatched to whichever panel is focused, so the same key can do different things in a browser, a docked app, or the video player. Rebind any of them under **Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts**.

Tip

**Memorize these 5 shortcuts first** and you'll cover 80% of your daily usage: **Ctrl+K** (search), **Ctrl+S** (save workspace), **Ctrl+Shift+W** (switch workspace), **F9** (lock layout), and **Ctrl+D** (bookmark).
