MetaDock Pro is sold with unlimited profiles, layouts, and API calls. “Unlimited” is a real commitment, and this policy is here to keep it honest. It explains the only limits that actually apply: the hard per-edition limits built into the lower tiers, and a short list of activities that are off-limits on every plan.
There are no hidden meters on normal use and no surprise throttling. The limits below are the ones enforced by the software itself or written into your license agreement.
These limits are part of each edition’s published specification and are enforced by the app. They are not judgment calls — they are simply what each plan includes:
| Plan | Browser profiles | API calls / month | WebSocket |
|---|---|---|---|
| MetaDock Explorer | 5 | 10,000 | Not included |
| MetaDock | 50 | 50,000 | Not included |
| MetaDock Pro | Unlimited | Unlimited | Included |
On Explorer and MetaDock, the monthly API-call figure is a hard cap. When you reach it, MetaDock’s local API returns HTTP 429 until the counter resets at the start of the next month. Upgrading lifts the cap. WebSocket is a Pro feature: real-time event streams are difficult to meter fairly, so they ship only on Pro rather than under a quota.
On MetaDock Pro, unlimited means there is no fixed quota in the software: no profile cap, no layout cap, and no monthly API-call ceiling. We do not meter, throttle, or bill Pro by request volume.
The practical ceiling is your own hardware — RAM, CPU, and GPU determine how many profiles and browsers you can run at once — together with the prohibited-use rules below. Within those bounds, run as much as your machine can handle.
Regardless of plan, the following are not permitted and are grounds for suspension or termination under the Terms:
MetaDock runs on your own machine, so your usage does not affect any other customer. These rules exist to keep the license honest and lawful, not to ration a shared resource.
