Fair Use Policy

Why this policy exists

MetaDock runs entirely on your own machine. There is no shared pool of compute to ration, so we do not meter API calls, bill by request volume, or throttle normal use. Nothing in this policy is a hidden quota.

What this policy does cover is the small set of uses that are off-limits regardless of plan, and how we handle them. The only other limits that apply are the plan features listed below, which are enforced by the software itself and written into your license agreement.

What each plan includes

These are part of each plan’s published specification. They are not judgment calls; they are simply what each plan includes:

Automation is the whole of what separates the two plans. Profiles, layouts and workspaces are unlimited on both, so nothing about capacity depends on which one you are on. MetaDock Pro adds the 5 automation protocols, headless mode (running unattended, with no visible window, which is the shape most commercial use takes) and the command line. None of those are metered when you have them.

What “unlimited” means

Unlimited means there is no fixed quota in the software: no licensed profile cap, no workspace or layout cap, and no monthly or daily request quota on the local automation protocols. We do not meter or bill local automation API use by volume.

The practical ceiling is your own hardware. RAM, CPU, and GPU determine how many profiles and browsers you can run at once. Within that and the prohibited-use rules below, run as much as your machine can handle.

Prohibited use (every plan)

Regardless of plan, the following are not permitted and are grounds for suspension or termination under the Terms:

• License-sharing beyond the single-installation rule in the EULA
• Reselling, sublicensing, or operating MetaDock as a service for third parties, unless covered by a separate written agreement
• Credential-stuffing, CAPTCHA farms, denial-of-service, or similar abusive automation
• Activity that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
• Any activity that violates applicable law

You are responsible for complying with the terms of any third-party website you access. MetaDock does not undertake to police every third-party contract. We may act when use is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, harmful, or otherwise prohibited above.

MetaDock runs on your own machine, so your usage does not affect any other customer. These rules exist to keep the license honest and lawful, not to ration a shared resource.

How we enforce this

1. The local automation API does not meter requests or impose a monthly or daily request quota. It runs on your own machine, so practical throughput depends on your hardware. Hosted licensing endpoints may enforce short-window rate limits for service stability.
2. For prohibited use, we follow the suspension and termination process in the Terms. Where it is practical and appropriate, we will contact you first and explain the issue.
3. For clear, serious abuse, we may suspend the license immediately and reserve the right to deny a pro-rata refund.

Disputes & appeals

If you disagree with our enforcement of this policy, email [email protected] with subject “Fair Use Appeal” and a summary of the situation. We will respond within 5 business days. The dispute-resolution process in our Terms & Conditions (Section 14) governs unresolved disputes.
