All MetaDock paid subscriptions (Explorer, MetaDock, and MetaDock Pro) start with a 14-day free trial. A payment method is required to start the trial, but it is not charged during the trial. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends and you will not be charged at all.
If you do not cancel before the 14-day trial ends, your paid subscription begins automatically and your first charge is taken at the plan price you selected. The free trial is available once per customer, on your first subscription.
The simplest way to avoid any charge is to cancel before your 14-day trial ends. Cancellation is self-serve (see below) and takes effect immediately, ending the trial with no charge.
If you would rather we cancel the trial for you, email us at:

Subject: "Cancel Free Trial"
Please include the email address used to start your subscription, so we can locate it.
You can cancel your MetaDock subscription at any time. Cancellation methods are at least as easy as sign-up, as required by the U.S. FTC Negative Option Rule, EU Omnibus Directive (Directive 2019/2161), the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (CPA), and the Quebec Consumer Protection Act ss. 214.1 and 214.7 (distance and remote-payment contracts: automatic renewal and easy-cancellation rules).
Alternatively, email [email protected] with the subject line "Cancel Subscription".
The 14-day free trial is there so you can evaluate every feature before you are charged, so the main way to avoid or stop charges is to cancel. You can cancel at any time: during the trial to avoid any charge, or afterward to stop all future renewals, using any of the methods above.
Refunds for charges already taken are considered on a case-by-case basis at our discretion. To ask us to review a charge, email [email protected]. Any refund we do issue is returned to the original payment method via Stripe and typically appears within 5 to 10 business days.
The following are generally not refundable:
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002, the Quebec Consumer Protection Act, Canadian PIPEDA, EU consumer protection law, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, or other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be waived by agreement.
If you are unsatisfied with our response to a refund or cancellation request, you may escalate the dispute under the procedures described in our Terms & Conditions (Section 14, Dispute Resolution and Governing Law).
Where you are a UK consumer purchasing a digital service, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 ordinarily give you a 14-day right to cancel starting on the day after the contract is made.
MetaDock starts as a 14-day free trial during which your payment method is not charged. By clicking the checkout consent checkbox before being sent to Stripe, you expressly consent to MetaDock beginning to supply the digital subscription immediately so you can use it during the trial. You can cancel at any point in the 14-day free trial and you will not be charged, so the free trial meets or exceeds the 14-day cancellation window the Regulations provide. You do not waive any rights that cannot be waived under UK consumer law.
Where you are a consumer in the EU or EEA purchasing a digital service, the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), as transposed by your member state, ordinarily gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal starting on the day the contract is concluded.
MetaDock starts as a 14-day free trial during which your payment method is not charged. By ticking the checkout consent checkbox before you are sent to Stripe, you expressly consent to MetaDock beginning to supply the digital subscription immediately so you can use it during the trial, and you acknowledge this. You can cancel at any point during the 14-day free trial and you will not be charged, so the free trial meets or exceeds the 14-day withdrawal window the Directive provides. Nothing here waives any right that cannot be waived under mandatory EU or member-state consumer law.
