Free Trial and Billing

MetaDock is free for 14 days with no credit card, so you can try every feature before paying anything. Just confirm your email and your key and installer are sent to you. The trial starts the first time you open the app, not when you sign up.

MetaDock is billed upfront through Stripe on the plan and billing period (monthly or annual) you select at checkout. Your subscription then renews automatically each period until you cancel. There is no card-required trial; you are charged when you subscribe.

Self-Serve Cancellation

You can cancel your MetaDock subscription at any time using the self-serve billing portal or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

We do not currently accept new subscriptions from consumers in Quebec while French versions of our legal documents are being prepared. This page, the Terms and the Privacy Policy stay reachable from Quebec so existing subscribers can review their terms and cancellation options.

1. Open the billing portal link included in your MetaDock purchase and subscription emails (billing.stripe.com) and click Cancel plan. No email or phone call required. You can also update your payment details there. The billing portal does not process refunds; to request a refund, contact support as described below.
2. If you no longer have the email, request a fresh billing portal link by emailing [email protected] from the address you used at checkout.

Alternatively, email [email protected] with the subject line "Cancel Subscription".

After Cancellation

• Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, with no prorated refunds for partial months.
• You will not be billed again after the current period ends.
• Local workspace data, profiles, and bookmarks stored on your device are unaffected by cancellation.
• License-key and subscription records are retained for 7 years for tax and audit compliance (see Privacy Policy).

Cancellation and Refunds

The free trial lets you evaluate MetaDock before you pay, and the main way to stop charges on a subscription is to cancel. You can cancel at any time to stop all future renewals, using any of the methods above.

Refunds for charges already taken are considered on a case-by-case basis at our discretion. To ask us to review a charge, email [email protected]. Any refund we do issue is returned to the original payment method via Stripe and typically appears within 5 to 10 business days.

The following are generally not refundable:

• Subscription renewals after your first paid period
• Accounts terminated by Gammal Software for material breach of the Terms or EULA, including unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, harmful, or unauthorized use
• Promotional, lifetime, or one-time purchases marked "non-refundable" at checkout

Nothing in this policy limits mandatory consumer rights that apply to you under applicable law.

Disputes

If you are unsatisfied with our response to a refund or cancellation request, you may escalate the dispute under the procedures described in our Terms & Conditions (Section 14, Dispute Resolution and Governing Law).

UK Customers: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

Where you are a UK consumer purchasing a digital service, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 ordinarily give you a 14-day right to cancel starting on the day after the contract is made.

Regulation 37 extinguishes that right only where you have expressly consented to supply beginning during the cancellation period and have separately acknowledged that you will lose the right once it does. Accepting our Terms is not either of those things, so we do not treat it as either. Instead, before the payment page opens, our checkout asks you to tick four separate boxes, each unticked by default:

1. that you agree to these Terms, this Refund Policy and the EULA;
2. that you expressly consent to your subscription starting immediately, before the 14-day cancellation period ends;
3. that you understand that once it starts you lose the 14-day right to cancel for a refund, and that this does not affect your other legal rights;
4. that you understand this is a subscription which will be charged at the stated amount, on the stated billing period, until you cancel.

Checkout does not open until all four are ticked, and each one is recorded against your order along with the version of each document you accepted. If you do not tick them, we do not take your money and the cancellation right is untouched. Nothing here affects your statutory rights where the service is faulty or not as described, or any other right that cannot be waived under UK consumer law. You can still cancel future renewals at any time, we consider refunds on a case-by-case basis as described above, and you can try MetaDock free for 14 days before subscribing.

EU/EEA Customers: Consumer Rights Directive

Where you are a consumer in the EU or EEA purchasing a digital service, the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), as transposed by your member state, ordinarily gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal starting on the day the contract is concluded.

Article 16(m) of the Directive extinguishes that right only where you have expressly consented to performance beginning during the withdrawal period and have separately acknowledged that you thereby lose it. Accepting our Terms is not either of those things, so we do not treat it as either. Our checkout asks you to tick the same four separate boxes described in the UK section above, each unticked by default: agreement to the Terms, Refund Policy and EULA; express consent to supply starting immediately; acknowledgement that this ends the 14-day right of withdrawal; and acknowledgement of the recurring charge, its amount and its billing period.

Checkout does not open until all four are ticked, and each one is recorded against your order along with the version of each document you accepted. Nothing here waives any right that cannot be waived under mandatory EU or member-state consumer law, including your rights where the service is faulty or not as described. You can cancel future renewals at any time, we consider refunds on a case-by-case basis as described above, and you can try MetaDock free for 14 days before subscribing.
