Which plan is right for me?
If you want the workspace, MetaDock at $19/mo (or $170/yr) is the whole product: unlimited profiles, workspaces and layouts with separate browser storage, workspace restore, privacy modes, auto-refresh timers, the live info bar and the opt-in anti-fingerprint beta. If you want to drive your browsers from code or from an AI tool, MetaDock Pro at $49/mo (or $440/yr) adds every automation surface. The licensed profile, layout, workspace and browser-panel limits are the same on both; the difference is automation. Both are a single seat, and both are subject to our Fair Use Policy.
What exactly does MetaDock Pro add?
Five automation protocols (REST, WebSocket, MCP, CDP, Selenium) with no request quota, 668 operations in all, headless mode for running with no visible window, the mdk command line with the same 198 commands the MCP server exposes, and the built-in AI assistant. The assistant drives your browsers through the same tool catalog as MCP, which is why it belongs to the automation tier rather than to the base plan. Everything else, every workspace, profile, layout and privacy feature, is identical on both.
What are the limits on each plan?
The same on both: profiles, layouts and workspaces have no licensed cap, subject to our Fair Use Policy. There is also no licensed browser-panel limit; practical capacity depends on your hardware. On MetaDock Pro, local automation API calls are not metered: there is no monthly allowance or daily cap.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, for 14 days, with no credit card. It gives you MetaDock Pro, so you can evaluate the automation surfaces before deciding whether you need them. Answer a few questions, confirm your email, and your key and installer are sent to you. The clock starts the first time you open the app, not when you sign up, so a download that sits unopened costs you nothing. When it ends you pick a plan; both are billed upfront and you can cancel anytime.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes, at any time, and you keep the same licence key. Moving between plans is a change to your existing subscription, not a new one. Your new rate takes effect at the next billing cycle. Moving to MetaDock Pro switches the automation surfaces on the next time the app checks your licence, with no reinstall; moving down switches them off the same way. You can cancel anytime.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period, then your subscription ends.
What's the difference between monthly and yearly billing?
Yearly billing saves you about 25% on either plan: $170/yr instead of $228 for MetaDock, or $440/yr instead of $588 for MetaDock Pro. Monthly billing is more flexible if you prefer to pay as you go.
What's MCP and which plans include it?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets you control MetaDock with AI tools like Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Cursor, plus any MCP-compatible client. It is part of MetaDock Pro, with no request quota. The 14-day trial gives you MetaDock Pro, so MCP works throughout it.
Which plan includes the REST API?
MetaDock Pro. All five automation surfaces (REST, WebSocket, MCP, CDP, Selenium) come with it, with no monthly or daily request quota. MetaDock is the workspace product and does not expose them. The 14-day trial runs as MetaDock Pro, so you can test every protocol before choosing.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your browsing data, credentials, and workspace configurations stay on your local computer. MetaDock does not store your browsing data or credentials on our servers. We send only pseudonymous usage telemetry (app version, usage counts, session uptime, plus a stable installation ID we can associate with your licence) to help improve the product; you can turn it off in Settings. If you cancel, your profiles, workspaces, and settings remain on your machine.
Can I buy multiple licences?
